    CFL vs Incandescent

So my father in law says that incandescent bulbs are more efficient over a short span a CFL. I am skeptical however I can't find anything to prove or disprove his statement. Can anyone here help me out?

In terms of power consumption CFLs are more efficient. However, CFLs do have shorter lifespan in places that the light is cycled on and off frequently, such as a bathroom.

Depends what you mean by "efficient" and "short span"

I'm thinking he's referring to startup power for florescents.

He was indicating power consumption. Sorry, I was vague. Thanks for pointing that out.

Halfway down the page... That may answer some questions. Pretty much CFLs are almost always more energy efficient. Though I think old CFLs did have a larger power consumption upon being turned on. They may still have that problem, but I don't honestly know.

I'm pretty sure all the light bulbs in HELL are CFLs
