    Re: Pre Game Establishments

Define "near". Mostly parking lots for a ways around Jack Trice, most of the drinking is done at tailgates.

That being said, I would consider most of the campustown bars to Jack Trice a doable walk if you're an able-bodied non-senior citizen.

Campustown is closer than Main Street or Duff establishments.

    Re: Pre Game Establishments

I would definitely pack a cooler and drink at the stadium instead of hitting up a bar. However, you could hit up Campustown for lunch and a few beers before heading to the stadium. Enjoy your visit.

Some people will start tailgating at 7am in the donor lots. I think you'll find a lot of friendly people in the lots to have a drink with, we're usually pretty welcoming to visiting fans.

Wear your WIU gear, grab a cooler and walk around. Come to the donor lots on the north side of the stadium, lots of people will offer you drinks. We love opposing fans if you are gracious and friendly (and not a Husker fan).

    Re: Pre Game Establishments

Drinking at bars before the game is a waste of time when you have one of the best tailgating atmospheres in the country right in front of you for a mere $20 parking fee

    Re: Pre Game Establishments

ISU tailgating is some of the best in the nation. The bars are ok, but they can't hold a candle to that.

As others have said, wear your colors proudly and stroll around the lots. You'll get all kinds of beer/food/drinking game offers.

    Agree with everyone else.

Where you're going, you won't need bars!!

Tailgating anywhere is fun, but tailgating at Jack Trice is a step above most.

    Re: Pre Game Establishments

I shoulda posted this in the tulsa thread but I didnt so here it is. At the tulsa game, a father and son parked right next to us and got out and kinda looked around bewildered and confused. I stood up and said whats wrong with your hand? He looked at me like great, here we go. He said, what do you mean, and I go there isnt a beer in it and handed him one. I told him to stroll around the tailgates and come back if he needs another. After the game he came back to his car and I said you never came back! He goes I didnt make it 20 yards before someone else gave me another beer haha.

    This. If you're not a d-bag, you'll be okay
