Missouri, welcome to the Southeastern Conference. SEC, welcome to Gary Pinkel. Fake punt on your own 35 on fourth-and-11 with game in balance? Yikes.

    Re: Bo's Woes

Apparently there were special circumstances — team chemistry issues — to Wisconsin firing its offensive line coach after two games. Let's hope so. If a Big Ten school fired an assistant every time it had a bad loss, there would be a lot of jobs open in the league. For some reason, Husker fans were interested in this Monday.

Liked this, I was stunned that WI fired the OL coach, be then their line play has not been up to Badger standards this year.

O-line's fundamental errors cost NU in loss - Omaha.com
The first half looked great, according to the box score, but game film revealed far too many mistakes, even before halftime, for a group that's trying to pride itself on being fundamentally sound. And by the second half, the O-Line play was “absolutely unacceptable,” said position coach Barney Cotton. Running lanes had clogged up. The pocket regularly collapsed.

    Re: Bo's Woes

I like reading the Facebook comments:

"Good thing we got out of the Big 12 as we would have been sucking close to the bottom of the conference by now."

"Once and for all, fire that mental-midget Barney Cotton!"

and my favorite: "GET RID OF TOM OSBORNE NOW."

Chatelain: Spread offense exposes bigger issues - Omaha.com
“Then you come back (to nonconference play) and you're playing a bunch of spread teams,” Pelini said. “You're jumping back and forth a lot. You have to use your personnel differently. It presents some challenges.”
Traditionally, Pelini defenses are fast defenses. Now he's working with a speed deficiency, and he looks lost.
His new players aren't good enough to run his old system. He must tweak the lineup or the scheme. Or both.

My brother in law is a coach and let me tell you living in Scottsdale with a house in San Diego we are a joke to the football world...I know these coaches Barney Cotton is a foul mouthed terrible coach I witnessed it personally on the New mexico State sideline..we have 28 walk ons instead of 28 4 or 5 star recruits like top schools...People laugh at how classless Bo Pelini is...they view Tom Osborn as a senile alzheimer patient giving a full scholarship to a kid on a Sports Illustrated article that could not get a d 2 scholarship ..UCLA had a freshmen qb 8 freshmen starters and abused our guys..not their fault they r not great athletes 5 walk ons on the line the 2 best recruits we had left the program..This is the worst defensive performance since playing the 1956 sooners...Bo cannot recruit..hired all his childhood buddies..its sickening..I would fire Beck instantly being so stupid as during a Bo Pelini foundation event having ladies hit a 64 year old woman causing her to have brain surgery,,,,these guys are woody Hayes era out of touch coaches

    John McKeown

Its almost as if the Defense prepared for UCLA by watching re-runs of Gilligen's Island

    Re: Bo's Woes

God I wish they would have stayed in the Big XII. That really was a tough loss for a team like ISU. A team we had a good chance to beat, that even on down years, is still a big enough name to give us some recognition.

Not long ago I wrote that I was worried about Iowa State's place in this crazy college sports world. Not to worry, ISU fans. You're sitting pretty. There's a great athletic director in Jamie Pollard making smart hires in Paul Rhoads and Fred Hoiberg and now a Big 12 TV contract for 13 years, including a grant-of-rights by all schools (including you-know-who). Which means stability. Good for the Cyclones. They're in position to thrive, not just survive.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

The thread title sounds like a spinoff of Blue's Clues. Maybe if this coaching thing doesn't work out Bo has a future in kids' TV?
