Is anyone else sick of Asterisk's

I am sick of them. Everytime anybody does anything there is some idiot chimming in that it deserves an asterisk next to it. Just quit. The latest is the Patriots. 2 Months ago it was Barroid Bonds. If someone breaks a record, they break it. The sport determins the rules.

Shoot if you want to go deep into it. There is someone cheating somehow on every single team in America. It could be steroids. Someone betting on a team. Someone playing on a pro team in Germany even though they did not get paid a dime.(o.k. maybe that one is rediculous). The point is someone is always cheating. I am sick of the stupid asterisk questions.

Sorry for the rant. Just sick of seeing that stupid word.

I'm more sick of people mispronouncing it. "Asterik" or "asteriks" drives me nuts.

Not as sick as I am of Barry whining about how he's going to boycott the Hall of Fame if they accept his record-breaking ball now that it has the asterisk branded on it

I think that Asterisk is a decent little VoIP system - something worth looking into for a small shop.

whatever...i am over records. they don't mean much to me as likely everyone cheated someone else to get them. If it is entertaining I am interested, that is about it. I am not going to treat a record like a religion or something.

Re: Is anyone else sick of Asterisk's

It's got to be another one of the dumbest arguments I've ever heard. It seems like the ESPN hype machine has to make everything into a controversy. ARod announced he was opting out during the World Series! Oh no!

Well, if you're so concerned about it taking attention away from the series don't report it until you're done covering the series.

Don Shula said the Patriots might have an asterisk next to their record!

Well, there's not going to be an asterisk in anything official so, once again, this is just another media debate about what the media should say about something. Yawn. Someone had an opinion, do we really need to debate it for 2 or 3 days?

Anyway, I gotta run and see if Sean Salisbury has a new take on it on the 5:00 Sportscenter.

Re: Is anyone else sick of Asterisk's

Wait till the report comes out that says upwards of 80% of all MLB players are/were using HGH. The entire sport is cheating, so either all records are invalid, or they all stay, you cannot selectively pick and choose based on who you feel is a "nice" person.

They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
