    5-0 For Family Weekend

Does anyone give us a chance to be 5-0 for the Family Weekend game against KSU October 13th? My rationale: by the time we play TCU on October 6th, we will have had 4 games to "work out the kinks" before upsetting TCU away. I think that Jantz will have caught fire at that point. Of course I'm assuming a W against TTU here, which isn't a certainty, but I think we're going to stop throwing points away and start getting 7 instead of 3 points on our drives. I don't think it's an impossibility that we could be 5-0 and ranked (not that we care about ranking) taking the field against KSU.

Its going to be difficult, but its not impossible by any means. Neither TTU or TCU will be easy.

I'll have what you're smoking. Let's worry about putting the smack down on Western Illinois first.

Crazy part is that even if we start 5-0, getting to bowl eligibility will still be difficult. Big 12 is the toughest conference to play in...yes, SEC, I mean it.

Simmer down there zippy. I was questioning the possibility of it happening, not saying it was going to happen.

It's quite possible. TCU's defense is really good, I have doubts about their offense though.

Haven't seen him do this yet, besides the Iowa game last year. SJ's play will probably be the difference of having a 4-8 record or a 8-4 record. I am hoping he puts it together so this team can be 8-4 (or better).

    Re: 5-0 For Family Weekend

I don't think it's impossible. Before the start of the season going 6-0 in the front half of the schedule and then losing some heartbreakers to go 1-5 or 2-4 in the second half of the seaoson was my "Not likely, but certainly not impossible" best case scenario for the season. Certainly the offense having more issues against Iowa than they did in the opener has dampered that a little, but I still think it's possible.

-We will have two weeks, plus a week of prepping for a poor FCS opponent to get guys healthy and work out the kinks for Tech. Tech hasn't beat anyone special yet, while we will be fairly battle tested. It's not a guarantee, but I feel good about it.
-TCU is the game the whole scenario hinges on, and the one I feel the least confident in. There kind of a mystery right now, and similar to Tech won't play any world-beaters before our game. They might be as good as the past few years, they might be an overrated team that takes advantage of poor Grambling. Should be a hot match-up if both teams come in 4-0. Maybe they're too amped and sloppy in their Big 12 home debut?
-K-State: IF we come in to this game 5-0 with some momentum, with the game FINALLY being at home, with Rhoads desperately wanting to get the Bill Snyder monkey off his back, I like us in this game. K-State is looking very good so far, but under Rhoads we have shown an ability to play up to the level of a better opponent if the circumstances are right. Cross your fingers if our luck holds up going into Family Weekend.

What do you think the odds are that we are 13-0 in time for the National Title game?

Good grief people, one game at a time.

I think TTU is going to be tough. They're going to have a huge chip on their shoulder after what we've done to them the last couple years.

I give us very little chance to be 5-0. More than in years past though. I'll take 4-0.

3 games ahead with one of them being a not-so-great FCS team is not that crazy.

that would be sweet.. as long as it doesnt end up like last time...

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Well here's the stats on that very thing happening:

    Massey Ratings - Iowa State

Massey has ISU favored for TT and W ILL, but only 29% at TCU. Difficult, but doable.
