    Jon Reader

I am excited to see him wrestle this year. His credentials are second to none. I've never seen him wrestle, but the way it has been described to me is that he wrestles "Iowa" style meaning he's physical, aggressive, and never slows down or let's up (minus the thug attitutde and poor sportsmanship of course). Can't wait for Thursday and beyond!

    Re: Jon Reader

Your right his credentials look excellent but high school and college are totally different. Look at Jesse Sundell, he was a four time state champ in IA who I believe only lost once or twice in his career in high school and didn't really do a whole lot here at ISU. I'm definitely excited though to see how the team does this year.

    Re: Jon Reader

Sundell wasn't a very well rated recruit even w/ his 4-time state champ accomplishment. Not trying to knock Sundell, but it was just known that he wasn't a can't-miss recruit. Reader is that can't-miss recruit and has already shown that he can compete w/ the big boys.

    Re: Jon Reader

Just saw the match. Reader was awesome! Even if his opponent was a fish, Jon completely dominated. Very physical, quick and tough. He is going to be fun to watch the next four years!

Yep, Reader is pretty much AWESOME! And Zabriskie had a heck of a pin as well.

He looked really raw and under-conditioned out there tonight.

    Re: Jon Reader

The kid Artist wrestled qualified and won a match or two at nationals last year, so he was no slouch. He's going to take some knocks this year, no doubt about it. I was disappointed in the lack of offense from Hanisch however. I'm almost certain that Clark or Kist would at least open it up offensively at that weight.
