Bowlsby: Big 12's new television agreements likely to be signed this week

I found this article from a few days ago:

Bowlsby: Big 12 TV contracts signed soon, Champions Bowl bids received - CBSSports.com

On Baylor's campus for the first time since dancing was permitted at the small private school (1996), Big 12 commissioner Bob Bowlsby told CBSSports.com that the conference's new television agreements with ESPN and Fox were likely to be signed this week.
"I feel good about where we are right now," Bowlsby said. "We released the first three weeks of the schedule so we're sort of operating as if the contract is signed. There are no major pitfalls, we just have some things we need to put together -- dotted I's and crossed T's. I'm hopeful we'll get it done in the next few days."
I hope they get it done soon. I guess it's my nature to worry about things like this until the contracts are finalized. This contract along with the grant of rights could be the best thing to happen to ISU in the last 10+ years.

Awesome. I wonder if they'll release the rest of the TV schedule once it's finalized? That sure would make it easier for gamewatch coordinators like myself.

You can probably gauge it's value relative to the BTN by the meltdown that's sure to ensue in this thread:

Re: Bowlsby: Big 12's new television agreements likely to be signed this week

So if you divide it by 10 you get 320,000,000, divide that by 13 and you get 24.6 million per school per year. Where does that other 4.6 million go?

    EDIT: I'm an idiot. Ignore

    Need to recheck your math.

Divide by 13 first. It works out to 320mil over 13 years.

From ESPN link, "The Big 12's $20 million per school average is slightly behind the Pac-12's $21 million per school media rights deal and on par with the Big Ten's per school average. The Big 12's new deal also will rank ahead of the SEC and ACC's per school averages -- at least for now. The SEC is expected to have a more lucrative deal in the coming months."

Ok guys here we go: $3,200,000,000/13= $246,153,846.20. That divided by 10 teams is $24,615,384.62 per team per year.

    EDIT: I'm an idiot. Ignore

I like the 'ESPN had no comment' inclusion in an ESPN story. Just something ironic about that...
