    No Stokes?

I was surprised that Cliff Stokes didn't get any playing time. I thought he was being discussed as a potential starter. Any insights?

Well, he's not in the two deeps. Listed as 3rd string at right corner.

    Re: No Stokes?

Not sure but Sam Richardson was the first cornerback off the bench and he played really well. Don't mean to hijack your thread but I don't recall Bundrage lining up at WR ever which surprised me. Also, Albert Gary barely played.

Ww finally have some depth. Bundrage played on special teams and had at least one tackle.

They're good, but I'm skeptical. They and TCU face eight teams they're not used to. Everyone else plays two.

WVU will have a hard time with UT's defense. UT will have no problem matching their speed and I would expect the longhorns to force multiple turnovers. If UT can get their ground game going consistently, they will be very difficult to beat.

    Now that's highjacking the thread.

I don't think the staff considered this the game to be breaking some new guys in. We have two bye weeks coming up, so we'll probably see them after the game in Iowa City,

I assume he's redshirting like Givens, Brun, and Chris Young did out of JuCo.

    I wouldn't make that assumption.

Well, I think we know now why Stokes hasn't played much. He was regularly beaten like he stole something against OU. At one point OU threw to his man on 4out of 5 plays enroute to a TD. Couldn't believe the staff didn't pull him and put Sam Richardson in sooner. They finally put Sam in late in the game but after the game was out of reach.

Where was Kenneth Lynn? He has done nothing but play his way into the starting cb position next season.

    Re: No Stokes?

Stokes was obviously put in there to battle the WR's height advantage because Jones was lobbing up fades a lot. He still did as stokes got beat bad on that one before the half. But I thought he did alright considering he hasn't played much at all this season. Give the kid a break. He was playing against good WR's and an NFL qb. Reeves got thrown on a few TD's as well. OU is a tough team and Stokes played alright in my opinion. Not good, but alright.

Way too harsh. This was basically his first real playing time at the D-1 level and he had to play Oklahoma. He had decent coverage a few times and OU receivers made great plays.
