Anyone else hear Johnston Coach Interview

Last night I was driving somewhere and heard an interview at the time with I believe it was the Johnston coach. Miller at the end of the interview asked where his kicker Guyer (not sure how to spell it) was going to be heading for college. The coach responded that he wasn't going to say, but that he was certain the school is very close to Des Moines. Then Miller right away said that Cyclone fans have to be thrilled with that news. Anybody else follow it closer?

I didn't hear it, but I someone told me about it.

“One day we’ll be in here celebrating a Big 12 championship,” Rhoads said. “That I can promise you.”

"I hope to coach here until I retire," Hoiberg said.

I heard that too. I hope he didn't mean Drake. I would have thought he'd be verballing if the coach was so sure.

Is this Johnston kid and the (Not sure what Cedar Rapids area school he located) the two best kickers in the state this year?
Can he put the ball in the Endzone on kick offs?
What is his stats for this year at Johnston?

The Waterloo West QB HAS to be one of the best kickers in the state! He is only a junior though...kills the ball!

Grant Mahoney is the other guy from Linn-Mar. Haven't been home to see a game since the team is horrible, but heard he has a really good leg.

I heard it. I hope we sign him and that dude from NC or whatever. I seriously want two kickers in this class, it's a position I don't want to have to worry about for a few years.

Any word on a kid from Carlisle? I've been told by a few people that he can boot the ball. I'm not sure if he's being looked at by anybody.

If it is ISU and Drake, you would think he would choose ISU *IF* they offer him a schollie.

    EXACTLY....

I want it to be like this in the stands...
PA: "ISU attempting 41 yard FG"

ME: "Hey guys...I am going up to get a Coke. I will Be right back for the Kick off."

I get back and the dude puts it into the endzone for a touchback.

That right there could win us 2-3 games next year alone.

I really hope we just spend the schollie, especially with the way that position has killed us over the last few years.

Re: Anyone else hear Johnston Coach Interview

The kid from Mississippi is Eduardo Carmona, and in July he was reported to be signing with ISU. He ran into a bit of a paperwork issue with eligibility (Oh no Lucca) and is trying to get that worked out....If the kid from Johnston has decided and its close to Des Moines, that bodes well for us as Drake is not listed as recruiting him. His name is Zach Guyer, wonder if Mahoney was looking elsewhere, from all the ratings of the two, Mahoney is considered the better prospect and one of the best in all the midwest.

The other thing is what will happen to the other 3 kickers on our roster that will be back next year? Are these schollies or are they walk ons? Curious....We won't be caring 5 kickers will we? And this does not include Punters....Mahoski, Mcmahon, King all three listed as Kickers.....all fresh and sophs....we lose 2 seniors Culbertson and Griebahn.

I wonder if anyone offered Cundiff (sp?) the ex-Drake NFL kicker a scholly. I would imagine he would have been an improvement over Tony Yelk.
