I really wish it would. It's kinda sad how far that conference has fallen.

The Big East is really taking this "manifest destiny" doctrine to heart.

its cute how the big east thinks more teams = becoming considered a big boy conference again

too bad the teams they add are mid majors and the tv contract will reflect it

They should just invite every FCS team to join the Big East

Re: Big East looking to expand again in Football

I hope the Big 12 is looking to do the same as well. There's nothing wrong with leaving the door open to big time programs. Of course you will have some smaller school who come knocking, but those knocks can be ignored.

NBC is the leader in the clubhouse to land the new Big East TV deal. As a result, ESPN is supposedly attempting to wrest away UConn, Rutgers and Louisville (possibly Cincy, too) and get them in the ACC or B12. ESPN supposedly doesn't want any of the other BE schools. I've read that Bowlsby will not accept any Big East schools. This could grease the skids for FSU and Clemson to join the B12 where those two would get the TV money they desire to compete with Florida and South Carolina. ESPN would then possibly backfill those two with UConn and Rutgers who would meet ACC academic requirements.

If the BE is looking to expand (or possibly replace more schools), BYU and AFA are the likely candidates.

Where'd you hear any of this?

If this has any truth to it, I'm in agreement with Bowlsby with the possible exception of Louisville. And I don't see BYU stooping to Big East level crap unless they're totally desperate.

    Twitterverse is the source.

Louisville might be an exception but only in tandem with FSU but I think if FSU comes to the B12, ND or Clemson is their partner. ND is supposedly very close to renewing their NBC deal.

NBC is supposedly throwing ACC-level money at the Big East which would entice BYU and help ease their indy scheduling issues.
