Re: Austen Arnaud's 5 Keys to Victory vs. Tulsa

I haven't read it yet, so let's see how I do:

    - establish the run
    - make Cody Green throw the ball/stuff the run
    - value the football
    - spread the field...vertically
    - special teams/field position

    EDIT: 3 for 5

Re: Austen Arnaud's 5 Keys to Victory vs. Tulsa

I will be surprised if ISU scores 34 points, and disappointed if the defense gives up 30. I am hoping that this year the defense can really step up and stuff some teams like Tulsa.

I can see that. I equated the "linebacker play" to my second bullet.

A couple of recent articles here haven't mentioned Rob Standard when talking about RB's. Is there any particular reason for this or is Nealy simply more impressive?

Re: Austen Arnaud's 5 Keys to Victory vs. Tulsa

I'll be happy with a win...no matter the score...but I'll be a little disturbed if we give up 30 against a Conference USA team. No disrepect to Tulsa but how are you going to call this defense "salty" if they give up 30 against Tulsa.

From what I've heard, it's moreso the latter. Nealy is just ready. Standard will be solid...just needs a little more time than Nealy. Again, this is just what I heard, so take that for what it's worth.

Re: Austen Arnaud's 5 Keys to Victory vs. Tulsa

I agree to an extent, but we are still breaking in a number of players without much starting experience, mainly at DE and DB. By the end of the year though, this could be a dang good defense.

Lets get the O and special teams rolling, then have the D go to work from there to close it out!

We already have the big three, then Nealy is simply just too good to keep off the field. Hes a homerun like SJ. I wouldn't say Rob isn't good by any means either.

That Clinton ad at the bottom of the page linked needs to go to the cave.

There are not many crowds or places in the country that have a better impact on the game than at Iowa State. The Cyclone fans are truly a sixth man. The place is so loud and always a fantastic crowd." - Former Kansas and current North Carolina head coach Roy Williams

Hard to argue with any of that.
