    Moving to Montreal

Hey all, CF has yet to let me down on my travel questions, and this one is a doozy. This week I accepted a position in Montreal, QC and I'll be moving at the end of December/beginning of January. Anyone have recommendations on moving to Canada, specifically Quebec, and/or places to live or places to avoid (I'll be working downtown Montreal)?

General tips on things to do in the area would be appreciated too.

P.S. I'm aware they speak French.

    Was the salary THAT big?
If, so good for you. It would take a big pay raise for me to leave Iowa, especially this time of year.

It's a weird city and they eat hot dogs for breakfast. Try to catch an Expos game. Tickets are easy to come by.

    Also, they speak French.

    Re: Moving to Montreal

I went to a conference in Montreal in the fall of 2010, and I actually really liked the place. It's really got a pretty nice downtown, and we found a pretty cool bar to eat at (Dundee's? I think that's what it was called).

Wish you the best, and I hope your job turns out well!

Well take notice that I did negotiate a start date after football season.

I'm married to an American, so I don't anticipate this problem. Thanks for the heads up, and thanks for the vote of confidence.

A little "How I Met Your Mother" reference, just bustin' your balls.

In all seriousness, they speak both French and English but French isn't too hard to pick up. Congrats on the new job!
