ISU will have to win OSU style, by keeping their OF off the field. BALL CONTROL.

I do like the idea of playing a large pass catching target before playing Iowa's TEs.

Tulsa might be the toughest opening day opponent since Florida State.

This game just scares me...but if they come out with a win I will be more confident for the rest of the season

He was a 2-star guy. And interestingly enough, had an ISU offer.

Re: Good read on Tulsa's Willie Carter

let's see him produce against Knott or Washington, CUSA is a joke and is nowhere near the level of competition we play at on a regular basis imo Knott will be able to smother him and when Knott isn't on him Washington will do just fine

"Day after day, situation after situation you do things the right way. If you do things the right way, in life, you are going to be successful. I'm not just your football coach; I'm not just here to win games. I could not be prouder of who we are and who we are becoming, together. You do things right in the classroom, off and on the field; that's whats's makes us Cyclones and that's what our culture's all about."

''Nobody wants to see him. He's bigger, faster and stronger than linebackers. He's bigger, faster and stronger than safeties,'' said Green, a transfer from Nebraska. ''Nobody wants to see him.''
    "I do."

Hmmm, 6'2, 245? ISU has two LBs that size or bigger and both can run with Carter. The third LB hits like a pile driver even though he's undersized. I don't think that Carter is nearly the mismatch for ISU that he is in CUSA.

You'd think if anyone on the team would now it's not easy to play against the Big12, it would be Cody Green.

His name is Cody, he chose Pelini, and he went to Nebraska. He has the IQ of a pork chop.

Exactly. We have to win games like this to be able to be a contender in the Big 12. Let's start strong this year and just keep it going.

The more I look at this game, the more it reminds me of Northern Illinois in 2010; a good offense with playmakers at various positions that will be a top tier mid-major, but shouldn't be able to cut it against a Big XII quality team. The final score of that game was 27-10. Even if this is a better offense than that NIU team had, we have a better defense than we had in 2010.

That might be a good correlation. ISU was coming off a lot of defensive turnover at many positions that season, had to replace a really good OL(Stephens) but was also returning the QB/RB. Just need to get this team to win more than 5 games though.
