Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

I currently have Charter Cable. I'm considering Direct TV and might get the full court package. Anyone with experience switching over. Do you wish you had cable back or happy with the move? Or visa versa.

Agreed. I was gonna say "Is this a serious question", but I didn't want to sound like a ********.

If you want Full Court for ISU games, I don't think you really need it anymore with espn3 and cyclones.tv (clonezone). I had FC for years but I don't think I'll get it this year because it doesn't offer me anything anymore.

Re: Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

Kicked Mediacom out of my house in 1998 and have never looked back. I've had very few problems with Directv and when I have they have always taken care of them, and I've usually picked up something free from them because of the problem.

When ordering, order from Directv, don't go through a third party. The one time I had a third party they were terrible, luckily Directv realized this and immediately sent their own people out to fix the problem.

Re: Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

I just recently got Direct TV and love it. But, there is one thing I don't get. With the sports pack (which I have) you're supposed to get ESPN Classic but it says I'm not subscribed when I go to the channel. Does anybody else have this?

Re: Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

From a sports fan perspective, Directv is a no brainer. Sports Pack, NFL Sunday Ticket, etc. And during special events like the Masters, US Open, NASCAR, etc they have 5-6 free channels (mix, dedicated hold, dedicated group, leaders, etc) with really in depth coverage.

You will pay a little more but its worth it IMO.

Re: Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

Had DirectTV when I lived in Kansas City. The only downfall to Direct TV is it goes out when there is a storm. Some years not so bad, others, seems like it was every day in the Spring.

No doubt that DirecTV is the best provider out there...but you will pay for it for sure! Just like a car...you want the smoothest ride out there...get out your wallet! After the first year of discounts expires...it can make it tough to justify the expense. But as I said...it is the best out there.

I also just switched from mediacom to directv a couple weeks ago, and it blows my mind how much better it is in comparison... on the conservative side, i'd say the dvr alone is about 100x better than mediacom's

It's for this very reason that I'm considering dropping my DirecTV once football season is over. The $$$ I send them each month could be put to better use.

Re: Cable vs. Direct TV? Which is better?

after my "new customer promo period" for my cable provider here my bill jacked up 65$ a month so I called and they said if I upgraded my internet from 10mbps to 20mbps i'd go back down to the promo amount for the next 3 years.

    i hate cable companies.
