What if ISU was involved in similar scandal as Penn St?

I have been extremely sickened (as we all have) about the PSU si
tuation. If this were to happen to ISU or any Alma mater, I can say with conviction that I would walk away from my allegiance to the university in every aspect. I would never step foot on the university property again, nor would I spend another dime in donations to the athletics department or college.

Heck, I could even be recruited as the next tavern hawk or be yelling "Go biiiiig Reeeeed!" on Saturdays.

    What would you do?

I would still support the university, after a full cleaning of house was done and measures were taken to make sure it could never happen again. If it were as deeply ingrained in our football program as it was in Penn State's, id say we should probably take some time off there as well.

My problem with penn state fans is that they resist those measures.

I would be a Kansas fan. While their sports are far from clean, I have respect for Bill Self and their basketball program.

    What alarson said.

It's my university, not whatever hypothetical Sandusky gets involved with it. Clean house, do whatever it takes to keep this from happening again, and get back to work. If that means that a death penalty for the program is necessary, then get it done.

I am a three time ISU alum. I will always be an ISU alum. I would support the program as they rebuilt after the purge.

Seriously considering starting an Obama or Iowa argument just to get this banished to the cave so I don't have to read that thread title and think about that possibility.

If ISU tried to cover up such a horrible thing, I would be done 100% with them.

I am a Cyclone. I'm not just a Cyclone fan, I'm also a Cyclone alum. It's part of who I am. Iowa State is part of my family. I don't quit my whole family because of some reprehensible things some members of my family may do. That doesn't mean I sit there with blinders on and defend reprehensible behavior, though.

This seems like a really terrible thought experiment.

Why would you have to change allegiances? That's just dumb and ignorant of the big picture IMO. Velo and alars are on the right track...purge those responsible and support the right people/those replacing or fixing the situation.
