Nike+ vs. Garmin or other running apps?

I just got a new cell phone yesterday (Samsung Galaxy S III), and am looking at running apps. The two I've researched are mentioned in the thread title. Do any of you have preferences for either of them? Or do you have recommendations for others?

    Thanks in advance!

MapMyRun+. Save your $$ and just get that. Does the same thing for $2.

Runkeeper! Uses GPS to track your route, average pace, current pace, calories burned, elevation. You can also create routes on their website and look at your stats on their website!

I had Nike+ for my iPod, and for that you had to use a pod in the shoe. For the app, it sounds like it uses GPS to track your route, so you don't need the shoe pod.

Second vote for Runkeeper. I've tried lots of GPS tracking apps for running and keep coming back to RK.

Endomondo is a great app to check out too... Uses GPS. Great website that keeps track of things. Routes, Best times, altitude, and many other things.

Use it all the time biking with my Razr Maxx. Never had issues and always have fun little contest to help push you in.

also run keeper. Another interesting one is "Zombies, Run!" It's a GPS run app that tells a story in between songs on your run list. As you go past certain areas you pick up supplies and you also get "missions" and sometimes you'll hear zombies running after you and you're supposed to speed up to out run them. After your run you can use your supplies to build your base up. Supposed to sync up with RunKeeper at some point but i don't think it does yet. It's a bit expensive but something different.

I bought a Garmin GPS watch about 3 years ago. Can't run without it.

Whatever app you get, don't be one of those who post it to facebook. Hate it when friends of mine post their results to facebook. Wanna know who cares about your runs? No one.
