Up 1000 a game. Not a bad jump. Helps that teams are building their own stadiums.

You know i am personally not a huge soccer fan. But i am a huge sports fan. When you see how much fun Premier League fans or just soccer fans in Europe have before, during, and after the games makes me want nothing more for MLS to succeed. And if it can keep bringing in more money and more players, well more power to them. If i were to ever visit Great Britain it would be hard for me to turn down a soccer game of lets say Manchester United or Chelsea. Those clubs are basically England's version of the packers or yankees and would definitely be a once in the lifetime type experience. If mls starts to flourish and succeed more and more you can bet your *** im going to go to a game or two. And if i were to adopt a favorite team, lets say Sporting KC, even better . Keep rolling MLS

All the chart really shows is that other countries don't attend pro sports events/support teams the way Americans do. The most popular sport in the world only has one league getting more than 40,000 fans in the seats for a game. Most of these leagues have two to four teams with large fanbases and 16 or more bottomfeeders with no resources or following. Big games and derbies are spread between lousy tournaments and bad matchups. Its the same everywhere.

I didn't "trololo" your post, that was directed at isuno1fan. I agree with you. I despise rhythmic gymnastics and figure skating. That doesn't mean others who enjoy it shouldn't be able to just because I hate it - a concept isuno1fan doesn't get.

That's the first thing I noticed too. The most famous (to Americans) league, the EPL, averages about as many fans as ISU has season ticket holders.

Re: How MLS Attendance Ranks Among Other Pro Soccer Leagues

I hate to be a downer but average attendance for MLS should be taken with a grain of salt when being compared to other Leagues/sports. There are a few teams that skew the average a bit higher than it probably should be. However a quick glance at wikipedia shows average attendance for 12 of the 18 (did not include Montreal) teams has increased in 2012 from 2011.

I'm a bit surprised at the low numbers for some of the top leagues. I'd expect the top 4 leagues in Europe to average at least 50k per game, but then again some of the stadiums might be filled to capacity each game but capacity for some older stadiums may only be 15k. There is also the issue of promoted teams from lower divisions of the league having smaller stadiums because that is all they could afford when building it.

All in all, MLS is doing well and it is nice to have some of these "pointless commie" threads to discuss the devil "sport" that is soccer.

I'd imagine they average more than everything but NFL, which average more than everything else probably.
