    Fan Fest

Well Fan Fest at Hilton sure seemed to be a huge success. Tons of people there, lots to do, lots of players, really glad they put this on every year. Anyone else make it over?

I did. However maybe it was more people past years or Hilton isn't as big as I thought but it was very crowded.

We just got back from it. This was our first time going and it appears Hilton was not big enough. Kids had a blast even though we didn't make it through half of it. Did anyone see Cy? The one thing the kids wanted to see but never found him.

Definitely crowded, I couldn't go last year so I can't say if there were more or less, but they did spread things out around Hilton. Lines for Hoiberg and CPR were very long, my wife stood in other autograph lines while I walked around with my son playing games.

He was on the outer concourse, north west corner I believe.

It was too crowded to see/do anything. The boys wanted to get the picture taken with Fred, but the wait was at least 90 min to get a pic.

took our 3 week old to get a picture with cy and only had to wait a couple minutes at 1:30. it was much too crowded to wait in lines or go down onto the floor though

    Re: Fan Fest

Very cool event. I think Hilton was good. It was crowded because everyone is excited about the success of Iowa state athletics. When there is a long wait to get Coach Hoiberg's autograph, it's going to be a long wait no matter where it is located.

Good job by coaches, players, and all who helped.

    Re: Fan Fest

It was packed, but it was still a lot of fun. It's always neat to walk around the floor at Hilton, and it was cool to see the locker room.

I can't really think of a venue that would be better suited for it off the top of my head.

I liked Hilton for the fact that you were able to tour the locker rooms and walk in the court.

    Re: Fan Fest

We made it through 3 of the football lines but the lines with Knott and CPR were way too long. Got all the B-Ball players and Freddy's auyographs. Wife stood in line for Freddy while I took the kids through the locker rooms and media center by the time we were finished up my wife was about 3rd in line. She waited about 10 minutes. CPR line was wrapped from the east to the south doors. Kids shot hoops, played mini-golf and got their wrists wrapped. All in all a good time.

    Re: Fan Fest

When we went at the Berg a couple years ago, it was still crowded but much much hotter. Even though it was more crowded today, I thought overall it was a better event.

    Re: Fan Fest

Thankfully we go to enough events that we see Cy other times. He was only in one place with a long line to get pictures. Both my girls wanted to get their faces painted, so waited in line twice to do that. While I was waiting the first time with my middle daughter, we were watching the big screen and happened to see my older daughter doing football drills. We've gone every year and it seems to draw more and more people.
