Who gets the open scholarships for this year?

First off, let me say that I love the scholarship chart on this site. Makes it easy to follow the numbers for recruiting. The chart says that ISU has 83 players on scholarship right now. I'm guessing that it's too late to grab a late JUCO or transfer, so I would think that a couple walk-ons are in line to get scholarships. Who does everyone think will get the scholarships? Seems obvious that Bueker is going to get one, as he's a captain and likely holder for all of the kicking plays. He also can deep snap. For the other spot, I'm going to guess that they'll give it to a SR so that they can use it for the 2013 recruiting class. What about Drew Davis? He's running with the second team and has put in the time. The other options would be Matt Van **** or Luke Goodson. If they decide to give it to an underclassman, I could see guys like Gage Shaeffer, Jared Weaver, Tyler Leo, Edwin Arceo or Walker Woods getting the nod.

Should be a large recruiting class for 2013 with around 25 recruits.

I would guess it would be Walker Woods. A few of those DBs play a lot of special teams and really earned it last year. Don't give it to the kicker until he kicks a few through the uprights.

    Glad you like the chart!

Hey I just realized that I made a mistake on it. I left Sam Tautolo off the list. He's sense been added, meaning that the Cyclones have 84 on scholarship at the current time.

The chart is great! Thanks for putting it together.

On the basketball chart, does that mean we have one scholarship available this year?

Did some research on this. Made a few calls. Pavlenko's scholarship does count for this year since he reported to camp. So the program is full. No scholarships are currently available.

I would've said Tyler Leo with the love he has gotten in a few of the coaches interviews but Pavlenko screwed that up. Leo should email him.

Re: Who gets the open scholarships for this year?

I take back all the good things I wrote about Pavlenko-he is to be shunned by all who are true to ISU.

“I realized that we are just tough young men. Resilient, really,” Morris adds. “A lot of people probably would have tucked their tail and tried to make moves but this group stuck together. Everybody is on the same page and that really told me a lot about the type of season we can have.”

That's not very SRJ of you. Or does that only apply to current Cyclones?
