Jantz having a great Fall Camp according to RV9 in Cedar Rapids??

Just watched a clip on the local channel where the sports guy claimed that SJ was having a great Fall camp, but when they got to the story it was a 20 second segment with CPR that basically said that he has show great escaping skills. Not sure that I can read that into he is having a great camp. He was very good at that last year, it is what happens after he escapes that has me most concerned.

I wouldn't read into it much. At the end of the clip they also said Steele had the stronger arm but Barnett is the better runner.

"Ill take I didn't do my research on either quarterback, for $200 Alex."

And 'RV9' (KCRG TV for all you out of towners) is owned by the same company that owns the Cedar Rapids Gazette. So you know their true interest is only in the Hawkeyes.

We all know SJ can throw a football over them there mountains... but who's there to catch his ball other than the oppositions secondary?

As far as a pure runner, I don't know who is better, but Barnett is definately better at running the spread option than SJ.

Chris tweeted that CPR isn't going to pick a QB after Saturday's scrimmage. That leads me to think that neither has separated themselves as the clear starter.

KCRG will always gloss over the Cyclones and throw out a few factless tidbits, just so they can say to people they cover them, but really it's all about just getting to the next Hawkeye story.

That's not what CPR said ... exactly. He said he wasn't going to name a starter immediately after the scrimmage was over, but he was going to take his time to evaluate the film first and then name a starter. It will probably happen Monday. This is the same thing he did last year.

If I remember correctly, he named SJ coming off of the field during his press conference after the scrimmage.

No he didn't...Jantz was named the starter right after the final fall camp scrimmage last season.

The reason I give the overall edge to JB last season. JB's decisions on the zone read against OK State were great.

Jantz may certainly be better at at scrambling but JB was better on designed runs and put our running backs in better position with the ball on option plays which isn't going to show up in QB stats.

True, but I do think a lot of Hawk fans (including channel 9) would rather not face Jantz again. For a lot of them he is a lesser version of Seneca Wallace.

Misleading title for thread, although I admit I didn't really pay attention to the question marks until I wrote this reply.
