All this talk about ISU hoops, how about your all time coach?

    Orr
    Floyd
    Eustachy
    Morgan
    McDermott
    Hoiberg

    Who would you take?

Orr put us on the map, HOiberg has done great but only been on the job for 2 years. Eustachy and Floyd can coach their ***** off. For my money, give me Floyd. Dude coached all 40 minutes of every game. I remember him f'ing with Norm Stewart at the Big 8 tourney when NOrm got t'd up.

I am an LE apologist, but would take Floyd I think right now. Hoiberg and Hoiball I think will likely eclipse anything those 2 did though, and consistently.

I love Johnny, but I wonder if Maury John wasn't the best basketball coach to ever coach at Iowa State. I guess we will never know.

The Mayor. Would not mind having TF on his bench though :)

Hallihan. Best win % of all of them, and with all of JO's ejections, he had a lot of practice.

Coin toss between Morgan and McDermott.

WTF are they on your list?

GM was an awesome recruiter under LE. I think the Stinson & co. class would have turned out totally differently if LE had coached them all four years. Too bad things had to turn out the way they did.

Orr is ISU's best all time coach for now. With where he started, it is tough to dispute otherwise. Floyd may have had the best basketball mind of all of them (at least defensively). Eustachy built on the successes of Orr and Floyd to take us to our highest points as a program. Morgan and McDermott were regressions from the previous regimes, so I don't know why they are on your list. I would take Hoiberg above all of them right now for our program and think he will end up being the program's most storied coach when all is said and done.

Yup, he was a heck of a coach. Wrote, literally, the book on belly button defense.
