Best thing I ever ate-Tailgate edition

We've so far had breakfast, pre dinner drinks, entree, sandwich, and appetizer.
Today, with football season in Iowa kicking off this Friday, I present
Best thing I ever ate- Tailgate edition.

When my brothers and I were in HS, we would stop by the Story City McDonalds and get 5, 20 piece Chicken mcnuggets and I will forever associate that with great tailgates.

Big fan of pork chops though, especially as the weather gets cooler.
Was able to eat at the Lynch BBQ tailgate before OSU game last year. Wow. Just WOW!

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

My dad makes some mean italian sausage sandwiches that are absolutely dripping with peppers, onions, marinara and mozz cheese. Makes for an incredibly messy and delicious tailgate meal, especially on some of the colder gamedays.

I was taught how to eat a sandwich "Italian Style" several years ago by a large italian man who would pick the bread out of the hoagie bun so basically there was just a crust and you could fit a ton more meat inside the bun.
Been eating all my sandwiches that way ever since. Less messy, too.

I like all the foods that are hot and spicy, filled with fat and cholesterol, cheesy, hot, spicy, meaty, you name it. Basically, any type of food that will clog your arteries, lead to early death, and will make you **** flames the following morning.

For the last KC Farmageddon, I marianted a deer loin for 3 days and grilled that sucker on the rare side. We let our tailgate neighbors try it out (without telling them it was deer) and everyone of them said things like "this beef is incredible!"

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Deep fried a small turkey that was injected with Franks hot sauce and garlic butter. Distant 2nd was Black bean and blue cheese stuffed burgers.

I will be adopting this strategy immediately. For the record though, I don't mind the mess

Grilled garlic bread, put grilled bratwurst on it, put smoked pulled pork on that, and top with bbq sauce.

Re: Best thing I ever ate-Tailgate edition

First of all, in before the naughty comments.

Fave food: Can't remember the game, but it was an a.m. kickoff, so we went with a breakfast theme. My wife suggested "Boy Scout omelets."

Basically, we brought several gallons of eggs in (clean) milk jugs, mixed and ready to scramble. Others brought omelet fixin's (bacon, ham, tomatoes, cheese, peppers, mushrooms, etc.)

We had several pots with boiling water. Folks poured eggs and their fixin's into a Ziploc, dropped it into the water, and Voila! 5 or so minutes later, omelets made to order.

This has become our 11:00 a.m. kickoff staple.
