    Star Trek

I've always been a fan of the show. Granted some of the late 80's into early 90's movies were a bit corny. The more I watch the recent JJ Abrams version, the more I love it. He just did an awesome job of breathing new life into that story.

Believe the sequel will be out soon.

    By soon you mean 2014?

Been watching the originals on Netflix. My wife likes them more than I do, but Tribbles are still awesome.

    Re: Star Trek

Paramount and CBS just released their remastered Season 1 of TNG in HD in July. Waiting for the price to drop before I pick it up. TNG remains my favorite series of the bunch, although DS9 had some great moments.

They need to make another TV show. Maybe pull a TNG and jump forward another 50-100 years. Miss having a trek show on tv

The real question- Kirk or Picard (sp?). I say Kirk, my wife says Picard. It has caused tension in our marriage.

I like Kirk better. More emotion. Picard seems more level headed however and would be a more natual choice for the Captian of a Star Ship...

I never could put my finger on what was wrong with Deep Space 9 and why I couldn't seem to get into it. Then one of my buddies put into words what was bothering me. They took a show that was based on exploring, finding new worlds and new civilizations, about adventure and turned it into a show about a bus station.

Fixed it for you. Best Trek Show ever, not surprisingly since it was ran by the same guys who did Battlestar Galactica (the new one). Seriously, give it a try, but just skip the first two seasons and start at the 2nd season finale. The Dominion War is the better than anything on the other Trek shows. It also helps once they get the Defiant, because then they aren't stuck on the station anymore. Its much different as it is a serialized drama with plot arcs that last for a dozen episodes, unlike the bottle shows on TNG (which I still like of course).

They could remake the original tv series now that the timeline has changed.

Also, I really liked the show Enterprise. Wish it would have lasted more seasons

Agreed. It started out slow, but really hit it's stride later on. It's definitely my favorite of the Star Treks.

What are other Trek fans' opinions on Voyager? I feel like it's a series that doesn't get talked about a whole lot. I really enjoyed that one myself; interesting premise, good characters, decent action sequences, definitely held my interest through it's whole run, plus the sexy Borg woman.

By that point I was pretty Trekked out. She was all I found interesting in that show.

A little tidbit about Jeri Ryan's role on that show...

In 1997, Ryan was chosen for a role on the science fiction series Star Trek: Voyager as Seven of Nine, a Borg drone who had been "de-assimilated", or freed, from the Borg's collective consciousness. When she joined the cast in Season 4, wearing her now-iconic silver formfitting catsuit uniform, ratings increased 60%.

From Wiki, so take it with a grain of salt.
