    What a bogus call.

    It wasn't the first time or the last time that this will happen. It happened a few years ago in a playoff and cost Brian Davis a shot at his first PGA Tour win.

    When asked about his good play in the first two rounds, he said, "looks like all my hard work in the gym is starting to pay off".

    This was my sentiment in both situations. In both situations it was not the players intent to move the loose impediment in the hazard to improve their lie.

    if a football player's toe touches the out of bounds line, but no defender is within 10 yards of him - the player scores easily. Should ref call him out of bounds?

    Peterson shouldn't hit his ball into the hazard.

    Yep. Stay out of the hazard, and you don't have to worry about it. I only saw the replay once, but it looked to me that he grazed the grass on his back swing, too. In a hazard, that's a no-no. Can't ground your club in any way, shape or form.

    Sucks for him, but he knows the rule.

    The non-call of the tournament to me was Sat when McIlroy's tee shot embedded in a tree limb. No one doing the allowed 5 min ground search could find the ball. Someone from the blimp or broadcast crew used the blimp camera tracking the leaders to find the ball. McIlroy was allowed to drop with a stroke penalty for an unplayable rather than having to go back and re-tee.

    No one knows what might have happened score-wise if he had, but he certainly came out with less risk of bogey not having to trudge back to the tee.

    Are they going to start installing 18 cameras in the blimp to watch each hole and prevent lost balls now?

    Yep, don't hit it 30 yards right into the hazard. Dude was lucky that it wasn't actually in the water. if you're in a hazard there should be no questions about if you grounded your club or moved something. If he was in a regular bunker (not at Kiawah) it would also be a penalty

    So where do you draw the line. Say it was a wet two inch diameter leaf. Could have a huge impact. You'd just be creating a bigger grey area without the rule. The proper play was to hold the club above the grass and not risk it.
