Maybe you're right. I didn't see iowa play more than a few quarters outside of the ISU game. He looked outmatched in that one. So did Nielsen. Kirksey was the only one of the three who didn't look like they were in slow motion.

Even if Morris is a different player, I would still take ISU's LBs. No offense to iowa's guys. I also would very much doubt Morris is a top 100 pick...because I would bet that neither Knott or Klein are. Then again, iowa players seem to get the benefit of the doubt in the draft where ISU's don't.

lots of research, but really just stats. he doesnt predict anything.. he gives his over all rankings of teams, pretty much it.

The sad thing is it takes about 11 seconds of research to see ISU has two returning All Big 12 linebackers and a returning Big 12 DPOTY.

I could see it if both teams had some obscure players or were filling gaps from players who left.

If "linebacking corps"=Kirksey. Good grief, Iowa's own coaches have said that they don't have anyone else with that kind of athleticism--and it's a shortcoming.

IF, and that's a big IF, he puts as much research into ISU as you claim, then it's even worse for him because if he does as much research on ISU as you claim then he's a **** analyst because he's constantly and consistently wrong about ISU.

Not knowing ISU has a returning All Big 12 linebacking corps and returning a linebacker that was Big 12 DPOTY = absolutely zero research on ISU

You do realize this was an issue at ISU as well, right.

Most accurate magazine overall as far as predictions.

But again, research and predictions aren't the same thing. He's underestimated ISU the last three years. Name one mag that hasn't.

    Re: Phil Steele thinks

People getting butt hurt over preseason rankings and expectations....you'd think people would learn that ISU will receive little to no due in these projections, after all these years especially on Cyclone Fanatic where "the most educated fans" reside....
