Though it was an exhibition...that win is very encouraging. We didn't

have Jiri, Clark or Staiger and we still won by 11. We even let EA Sports back after being down and still won. I know it's just an exhibition, but that was very encouraging to me tonight.

I thought we would lose tonight without those three players. Get Jiri and Clark in there and we likely win by 25 or so.

Plus, a lot of new guys got GREAT quality minutes as well.

Haluska is impressive, Peterson seems to know exactly what is needed of him, Brackins is a star in the making, W. Johnson continues to impress me, and even Alex Thompson impressed me tonight.

Can't wait for the weekend to see these guys in their first games!

Thompson had some rough moments, but played good D in the 2nd half and hit a big three down the stretch.

Peterson looks like our best PG.

Sean Haluska looks just like his brother with less athleticism. (running off screens, similar shooting stroke, good touch, good hustle)

Brackins is a monster in the making.

    Wesley Johnson is a STUD.

If Charles Boozer ever learns to play defense on this level, he will be a really good player.

Vette looks decent but could benefit from a redshirt.

You can see flashes of Garrett's talent, but he isn't there yet. That's not a huge surprise. It is only his second game. He will be fine.

Cory Johnson gives us good energy. He can hit the open shot and knows his role.

So Clarke has a bad leg still?

Peterson gives us the best chance to win right now. He'll seems to really control the tempo more than the last several PG's weve had. Diante will still get his minutes, but we really dont need our PG to be a scorer at all right now. Wes, Craig, Rahshon, Jiri can score enough for us to win.

I reall like having WJ out there at the SG spot. He can really do just about anything on the court. Its really nice to have the one of the returning league leading rebounders playing guard.

I agree. We need someone that doesn't feel the need to shoot, AKA Jacy Holloway. Peterson reminds me of him so far. Quiet, solid, steady.

Amen to that. He also played some solid defense against guys a lot bigger than him. Overall a great player to have.

Re: Though it was an exhibition...that win is very encouraging. We didn't

I remember reading somewhere that Peterson played in a similar offense to McDermott's while at Kirkwood CC. That has got to help immensely. Also, he has two years of college-level experience, granted not D-I quality, but still better than high school. Lastly, maybe he actually has some talent. You don't get to be a first team all-American, even if it's only D-II Junior College, without having some talent.

I agree that Garrett is the future, but it sure is nice to have Peterson on board while DG gets up to speed.
