    Swagger...

Hate to bring it up again.. but I think yesterday gave us a nice glimpse of the swagger that Coach Chizik and Staff is building up. Our Offense didnt flinch and took the ball down field, converted 3rd downs when they needed be. The Defense was confident in themselves all day, they got the goal line stop, they kept the crowd up forced turnovers, and did it all with a swagger that is near impossible to describe. This is something we havent had on this team for so long and I am thrilled to see the big steps we take forward in the years coming. The fans have also shown some swagger of sorts by sticking it out, having fun and staying in their seats through thick and thin. Keep up the good work.

Speaking of swagger, Sage just threw a touchdown.

    Re: Swagger...

The great definition of swagger -
    1. Never lose to an underdog
    2. Always play tough at home
    3. Always capable of pulling off the upset
    4. Never accept a loss

I do believe that swagger started with OU. 1 & 4 we're still working on. Beat CU this week, than haul in No.3 on the list with an upset of KU.

If we do this all four elements will be in place for '08 and you can look back at a loss to OU that started the "movement."

Not to mention, I think our Home Field Advantage is becoming better and better, ive been to many stadiums in some big games, and for 48000-50000 JTS rocks when it needs to. Compared to similar facilities and programs, we are a tough crowd that sticks together.

    Re: Swagger...

Part of me is just stunned that there is still 45,000+ still showing up for games when the season has been this bad. We've always had problems filling the Jack for the last two games, regardless whether the season was pretty much over or we were competing for bowl/North championship. I think fan attitude is changing - can you imagine what it's going to be like when we have an 8-2 record or better going into the final 2 games of the season?

    Re: Swagger...

I'm about 20 rows behind the visitors bench, and it's fun to watch Ace always talking to the opponents bench. This saturday though, something pretty funny happened. Ace was pretty close to the KSU bench and I could see his head bobbing up and down and facing the bench so I knew he was doing some talking. Anyway, he was backing up and talking and somehow tripped unassisted and fell on his ***. It would have been a good one for one of those funny home movie tv shows.
I wouldn't normally have related this story but I think he has a good sense of humor and probably doesn't mind. If not, I'll be on the lookout for compliance linebacker!!

On an unrelated note, 33, is there an easy way to photoshop red-eye out of a photo?? I have some wrestling photos that suck because I forgot to turn on the red-eye reduction in my camera.

    Re: Swagger...

Just glad to see the boys hold it together. missed the game due to work but listened to it on the radio. it was great to hear them score that last touchdown. it's nice to be ahead in the 4th quarter and actually score. i remember a k-state game not so long ago that we didn't score in the second half and were ahead 28-7 at half time. good job to all the players and the fans that supported them. i'm not sure i have ever seen our cyclone football team have swagger in my 32 years. i've seen a lot of incompetant football and some good football but no swagger

Two favorite teams, the Cyclones, and whoever is playing the Hawkeyes!

I love to watch Chizik on the jumbo-tron getting worked up at the refs. Pointing his finger, shaking the clipboard. It is nice to see the fire!

    Re: Swagger...

33, speaking of swagger, is JJ Bass still feeling it? I remember reading about how he was going to take the Big XII by storm before the season started. Has he adjusted to the realities of the conference? I assume he's still confident, just curious how much swagger he still has?

    Funny stuff, thanks for sharing.

And there are many photo tools that allow for quick/easy red-eye fixing. I use Photoshop CS3, but there are many others.

If you would like, I can fix them for you.

    Re: Swagger...

Its ok to start having a little swagger I guess, but with only two wins, beating CU and KU are going to be musts for it to really be a justifiable swagger.

    Re: Swagger...

I think we can get CU if we play the way we've been playing, but it won't be easy. KU is playing great. A win there would really speak well of where we are going (although I would much rather beat a 10-0 Nebraska team on the road and ruin their season than Kansas....of course we may not be seeing any 10-0 NU teams anytime soon).

    Re: Swagger...

I think the swagger is justified....KSU came in averging 40 points a game in the big 12, we cut that in half. Oklahoma came into the game averging like 48 points a game and held them to 17 pts, Missouri was averaging about what they scored, but were only giving up 20 and we scored 28 against a very good d....

Theres a lot of reasons this team should have swagger regardless of record....After the loss to Kent St, i along with a lot of people said as long as we improve as the season progresses, we will be happy....Well not only have they improved but they've begun to put us in a position to win....infuse some new talent and improved competition and another year of building strength with Shep, i think the future is bright....and i like the swagger....recruits like swagger.....recruits translates to success.....

All things pointing to success.......great job Chiz and staff....

We handed KSU their worst scoreboard loss of the season. Their schedule has included games against Auburn, Texas, Kansas, and OK State. Very impressive accomplishment.
