Dallas Morning News: ISU making an impact in Texas

Apologies if this was posted already, but it's an intresting read, even if they say all 11 commits are from Texas....

    http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcont...z.287a3bf.html

Mansfield Timberview OT Jared Edwards is the second local recruit to orally commit to Iowa State, joining Mesquite DE D.J. Marshall.

Eleven players from Texas have committed to Iowa State and first-year coach Gene Chizik, the fromer Texas defensive coordinator.

Edwards said Tuesday that Chizik is sending a positive message to recruits.

"He knows what to do," Edwards said. "He knows what to work on. We're going to win a lot of games there."

Does this include last year or are rivals and scout way behind the commitments?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

Well whats the total if you take last years and the current this years? To lazy to look, but that might get your answer.

I had to rub this weeks win into my buddy Blake Slaughter, because we all know he had it narrowed down between us and K State and chose the losers And i think he may actually have second thoughts because he loved Chizik as a coach. and we are headed in the right direction

I used to travel to the Houston area a lot for work, and I have to say the Houston Chronicle is 1000 times better than the Rag. The sports section had a Big 12 section that had stories and news on all teams. Stories and news that the Rag never had.

The Houston Chronicle often had more ISU coverage than the Rag.

You've asked for it now 33. For the next month, everyone and their dog will be asking you if and when he has officially commited to us.

Giving a lil recruiting news to people on this board is like buying a homeless man food. They both appreciate it, but they want more, and the good stuff.. like 5 O'clock Vodka or maybe Hawkeye Vodka, its the same as an official commit, both will make em sleep better at night.

Thanks for the insight as always!
