Chris, nice set of interviews and thanks for posting.

There seems to be a common theme from the players this year that they are bigger and faster due to the training from YanCY. Deace used to give the eye test at media days in the past. Care to enlighten the group on what you are seeing as far as the development of the players and their sizes? I guess I am asking, are our players starting to look the part with 3 years in the system.

Morrissey said that he's put on 17 pounds since he got here--but if he's struggling to KEEP it on, I'm not sure it's all GOOD weight--which seems odd, since he's a nutrition freak.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.

Easy explanation. He comes in at his starting weight, adds 17 pounds, mostly muscle. Some of it is fat because adding 17 pounds of muscles is pretty much impossible over a summer. Then he loses a lot of water weight through sweat.

Maybe some of his weight he gained was water weight, but probably not 17 pounds worth. Especially since he's on the Yancy McKnight weight training plan.

Long story short, he is probably just losing water weight.

I would imagine he is struggling to keep it on because he is a nutrition freak. Eating absolutely clean would make it hard to get the calories needed in fall camp to support his rapid gain of an extra 17lbs of muscle.
