Andy Reid's son dies at training camp

With the upcoming Cyclone football season, I know many of you won't care much about this but I also follow the NFL this time of year. Saw this today...

As a Giants fan, I have no love for the Philadelphia Eagles but I respect the coaching job that Andy Reid has done. I feel terrible for him and can't imagine how much he must hurt right now.

Garrett Reid found dead at Eagles training camp | ProFootballTalk

I think his two oldest sons had some legal trouble over the years, including drugs. Wonder if drugs were involved in this death?

Re: Andy Reid's son dies at training camp

He did have a checkered past, but it needs to be acknowledged, he was working to turn his life onto the right path.

It will only be a matter of time before people start to speculate and jump to conclusions before facts are known. I wonder how long it will take someone to put the blame on Andy being an NFL coach and how it took time away from being a father.

Drug dealing was in their past. Drugs OD is a good chance here.

I agree. Reid did take quite a bit of time off in the past while he had two sons going thru rehab. That would be awful.

You act like you know the kid and "Andy". I don't get the desire to jump to his defense. His father's career did have something to do with his troubles. Just kind of goes without saying. Doesn't make Reid a bad person or dad. If a former (as far as I'm told) drug user is found dead at age 29. I'm going to speculate drugs or some result of previous drug use. Not sure how that is offensive. And really, it doesn't matter.

Not sure what capacity, but he was helping as a strength coach for the Eagles, which is why he was at Camp.

    Sad story.
