13 commits down- what's left for needs?

Here's what we have for commits thus far....

OL- 3 (Homa, Severs, V. Johnson)

DB- 3 (DA Williams, Tribune, Syrie ..... 2 CB's, and one safety I'm guessing?)

TE- 2 (Bibbs (JUCO) and Leslie)

    QB- 1 (Hodge)

    RB- 1 (Brown)

    WR-1 (B. Harris)

    DE- 1 (Waggonner)

ATH- 1 (Justin Webster; I think he ends up at LB or Safety?)

... with that being said, how many at each position do you think we still need to get in this class? I'm assuming we have about 10 more schollies to give, but I'm just guessing.

    I'll go with....

    DT- 2 at least
    DE- 2 more
    LB- 2
    S- 1
OL- 1 ( is 4 enough for this class?)
    WR- 2

That's a bit heavy on defense probably, but we don't need any more QB's, RB's, or TE's IMO.

More DB's and LB's for sure. Probably a few more DL. Would like to see a couple more WR's too. If possible, another punter and kicker wouldn't hurt.

Don't know, but it would seem as though we'd sure want to get the Lanning kid from Ankeny for QB (seems like the current one is more of an athlete who could move to another position?) and, perhaps the same at RB? But, yes, getting more of the big boys up front for defense would be most important.

This. Unless the coaches are positive that Netten can do well for four straight years, I definitely want another schollie kicker. Having Guyer as a backup this last year won us games.

How many DBs do you think we need in this class? We have 3 already, possibly 4 if Webster ends up as a safety.

I understand we need DBs, but I'm not sure we need more than 5 in this class?

Of topic, but has anyone heard how last years recruit damien lawry has been thus far in practice? He was a big time recruit that I thought maybe had the potential to get some immediate playing time.

Would you mind clarifying this? I'm assuming you're talking about Barnett, but I haven't even heard this mentioned in passing by any of the coaches or anyone else. Just wondering where this came from. Thanks, in advance.

It seems like a week ago when we were wondering when the staff would get commits.

Linebackers, defensive linemen, and a couple wide receivers are the biggest needs at this point. I expect a couple more commits at the other positions, of course.

Rhoads has come out and said in the past how his preference was to not have two scholarship kickers. He felt like it was a keeping a scholarship from another position, but its what he inherited so he had no choice. Clearly he had a choice to take away a scholarship from one of them but neither seemed to grab the job and run with it. If Netten doesn't prove to be worth a hoot, then Rhoads could recruit one in the next class and give Netten the boot.

    talent.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.
