    Cyclone athlete sightings!

Since I'm relatively new, I don't know if a thread like this has been posted before, so I apologize if it has.

There should be a thread where we can share our encounters and experiences with current and former Cyclone athletes, especially the more famous ones.

I've reached this conclusion because just an hour ago I walked into Fighting Burrito and saw four men's bball players: Chris Babb, Georges Niang, Naz Long, and a fourth, a smaller player who might've been Korie Lucious or possibly Kerwin Okuro; you'd think I could distinguish by their size, but they were all crammed into a booth, eating some relatively large items (for that place, seeing as I always just get a burrito.) Didn't really want to stare or snap pictures, anxiety disorder and all. Can't identify the fourth player for sure without current roster pics which aren't available on cyclones.com yet.

Geek out 'clones fans, and share your current experiences here!

Might have been Cam Fowler... I think he's in that niche

What kind of hair did he have? I think Korie's and Okoro's are cut pretty short. Cam had a mini fro during the CCL. Also Okoro is pretty built for a frosh.

Somehow, stalking people just because they play for our team doesn't really appeal to me. Are you familiar with the term "paparazzi"? Let's let them have their privacy, is my vote.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

I don't know if it counts but I see Fred Hoiberg in my dreams frequently.

That's precisely why I didn't take a photo, or bother them. But you can't blame me for being excited about seeing them on occasion.

For the record, I don't endorse paparazzi behavior in normal people.

    Re: Cyclone athlete sightings!

I have a tendency of being overly star struck when in the same room as a Cyclone basketball or football player.

I have to be honest I haven't ever been that excited when encountering a player. They are people. Big whoop.

I once told a guy to get out of my way when walking across campus. He was walking way too slow. It was Royce White. Oops.

Royce White did walk unbelievably slow. He had a class in the same building as I and he made turtles seem fast. Probably didn't want to break a sweat walking to class.

I've seen Fred Hoiberg multiple times. The most exciting was last semester two weeks before finals week. He came into that cafe place near Pizza Pit and got a table right by me and a few friends. He got two menus but was the only one there. Me and my buddies were excited, thinking it was going to be a recruit, REALLY hoping for Norvel Pelle. We skipped our 11:00 classes just to see who the second person was.

    It was his wife.

    Re: Cyclone athlete sightings!

    This thread is pretty creepy...

As a student, you will see a lot of athletes around campus. If you aren't weird about it, you can even talk to them! How crazy is that?!?

Next time you see Naz Long (well, maybe not if he is eating with teammates) strike up a conversation with him, he is a cool guy. Chris Babb is also a really nice guy, he convinced one of the security staff at the Iowa-ISU football game to not eject me from the student section when I was acting... "belligerent"

Moral of the story is that they are all people too and the idea behind this thread is really weird
