DirecTV lowers price of Sunday ticket

Sorry if already posted, did a quick search and didn't see anything.

DirecTV has lowered the price for Sunday ticket to $199. That might be enough to get me to spring for it. I've been hoping they would at least experiment with a lower price and maybe they'd get more people to sign up and actually make more money from it. Hoping lots of people do so it stays at this price!

I called and got it for $149. I've heard a rumor this $199 deal is not HD and does not have redzone, that'll suck if true!

It is HD, however, I just confirmed it does NOT include RedZone which totally blows. To get RedZone you have to upgrade to their Sunday Ticket Max which is another $100.

    Well now I'm just ******.

i was able to call in and get it for free. only 5 months into contract and got the Max with Redzone free. Just keep calling retentions and be nice with them. tell them the local cable company is planning on paying disconnect fees and offers redzone free.

Wow, you guys must be better negotiators than me. I just called and they would not deal on price at all.

They were wanting to charge me $50 per month for six months… I kept telling them that I didn't need to spend that much and that I got it for $175 last year but I really like the service/coverage and Bob Loblaw. Finally settled at $25 per month for six months.

I got Sunday Ticket with Red Zone and HD for free again this year. I did have to agree to a 12 month contract though. Just call and say you want to cancel because it's too expensive and they'll transfer you to the retentions dept who will throw free stuff at you until you agree to stay.

I called and had the I was going to cancel discussion. They offered me the $150 half price for Sunday Ticket as I said I only wanted Red Zone. Said I really liked the Hopper from Dish, etc... and could get the Red Zone only through them. After they gave me that offer I simply asked if that was the best they could do and they found a rebate to cover the cost of Sunday Ticket to get it to me free. I told them I did not want this to include a 12 month contract extension and it didn't, just a rebate to cover the cost of Sunday Ticket. 3rd straight year I have gotten it for free.
