    Interesting Scores

Since it was kind of a "hot topic" earlier about how much an exhibition score really meant, I thought I would share a few interesting scores from around the nation.

GT is leading Carson-Newman 84-46 early in the 2nd half (was 74-36 at the half)

OU is up 33-25 against Fayetteville State with a few minutes left in the half

Baylor is up 32-27 with a few minutes in the 1st half

Michigan State is losing 23-21 to Grand Valley State with a few minutes in the 1st half

    Re: Interesting Scores

I watched a lot of the Minnesota v Minny State (Mankato) game last night and Tubby had his hands full most of the evening. They pulled away late but still struggled more than I thought.

I love seeing some of these scores early in the year. Michigan State needs to wake up.

I'm watching the MSU game on the Big 10 Network. Say what you want about the network... but it would be kind of nice to have exhibition games on TV.

Orr and Iowa State mention on the MSU game, if I caught it correctly the Grand Valley State coach is a former assistant coach of Orr here, anyone hear it...

I did as well. Says he is running quite a few things that he learned from Orr and other coaches along the way.

    Re: Interesting Scores

BTW, Tarleton State defeats Baylor 95-85.

So much for them looking like a threat in the B12. Losing an exhibition game usually involves a low score, not a high score.

    Ah well, it's Baylor.

Ric Wesley. He was there in the late 80's and early 90's.

    Re: Interesting Scores

Ric Wesley was an assistant at ISU for 14 years. Grand Valley is now leading in the second overtime. Of course, as expected, they got totally screwed at the end of regulation. GVSU had a two point lead with 5 seconds to go. Neitzel had the ball and fell down. As Neitzel and the CVSU player were laying on the floor - at least ten feet from the loose ball, the back official who was a good 30 feet from the play called a foul on the GVSU player.

GVSU now up 5 with the ball with 1:10 to go.

    Re: Interesting Scores

    GVSU 85-82 (2 ot).

MSU got no FG in the final 4:00 of the 2nd OT -- just 5 FT.
