....and here we go with the water conservation

Still voluntary, but wonder how long that will last?

Should just tell people to stop watering their stupid lawns altogether.

Re: Waterworks issuing Stage 1 water conservation plan

I water my lawn/garden, and my water bill is almost half of my neighbor who has a pool, 5 kids and washes their car every other day. Water conservation isn't just about lawn watering.

I don't shave with the water running, or wash dishes with the water running, etc. I use native plants and xeriscaping techniques, and installed high pressure water conserving faucets. Not trying to preach my goodness, but people waste a lot of water, and its not just those who water their lawn.

Washing his cars every other day? In Illinois we are definitely getting more rain that Iowa, but I've just been dusting my cars. I mean that's pretty much a joke on my part, but seriously with no rain, what's the purpose of washing your car that often?

People are crazy to be watering their lawns. Damn near the whole state is brown already. I've been saying it for weeks, it feels like we are in Texas as all you have to cut are the weeds.

My neighbors trees already lost a lot of their leaves. I really feel for the farmers and soon to be the rest of us once the crop burns up. The economy is really going to struggle more with the costs of goods going through the roof.

I quit drinking water and am drinking beer that is made in states and countries that have plenty of water.

Me too! But seeing all the dead corn out west... I may just give up and let it go. Depressing.
