    Puppy classes recommendation

We have our new 9.5 week puppy and would like to take her to some puppy training classes (http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...ml#post2965224).

Des Moines Obedience and Seelah Kennels have been recommended by folks. Any experience or other recommendations?

Honestly, the Pet Smart training classes aren't too bad, with anything though, all depends on the trainer.

I took our pup to the ARL two years ago. He did well there. Most places will probably suit your needs. It'll come down to how much time you spend training week to week.

Bad idea. Puppies cannot focus for long, let alone with 15 other dogs around.

Find a place that has one or two other dogs. We went to 4-Paws Unleashed. Cory was great. Inexpensive and only one other puppy in the class.

Side note, 9.5 weeks seems very young for classes. Some won't take puppies until a certain age. In the meantime, buy a clicker and work on small tasks. Puppy Training and Management | Karen Pryor Clickertraining

    Re: Puppy classes recommendation

I trained started mine at about that age. I did Pet Smart and actually all the distractions and other dogs means my dog is better in public and around other dogs than most. At the tome they capped the classes at 8. I regularly take my dog in hotels and public places. He travels with us. He also minds when around other dogs and people. Its more the trainers than place that matters and if you do your homework w your dog.
