    The weirdest computer issue

I dont know what started it, but if I clicked on anything regarding the internet, it keept opening a new window everytime. Usually on this site I hit New Posts and it does a refresh of the page, well here it just keep taking me to a new window.

I restarted and am back to normal, but that was just odd!

I was going to say your "Ctr" button could be stuck down but now that you've restarted - all seems well.

    Re: The weirdest computer issue

The thing was I didn't change anything. I was just left open while doing work. I came back to do some searching and all hell broke loose. I gave up, restarted and back to normal. I'm baffeled.

    Re: The weirdest computer issue

I have seen an issue reported with Dell Laptops recently where the shift or ctrl key seems to be acting like it is stuck on. The only way to recover is to re-boot.

    Re: The weirdest computer issue

I had a weird one one time as well. I use Firefox, and one night, for no reason, any time I tried posting, whenever I hit the ' (apostrophe) button, the quick search mode in Firefox would open up (plus no apostrophe). No matter how many times I open and closed Firefox and messed with the settings it kept doing that. 8 hours later it seemed to fix itself...

    Re: The weirdest computer issue

Maybe you used the control key, but there was something sticky under it that caused it to get stuck.... Sticky messes on keyboards are not good.

    Re: The weirdest computer issue

I think it I figured it out. It goes with what cys said. I had the shift held down and it came up with a keys filter messaged (which I said cancle), but apparently still did its own thing. Stupid computers, who needs them!

Go to Control Panel >> Accessibility Options.

    Un-check the use StickyKeys option.

    This fixed it for me.

I knew it. I couldn't get into hyper drive to get back to 1955 where I could make out with my mom while I saw how big of a wimp my dad really was!
