    My wife is killing me.

So last night she is playing slap jack with my son. She looks up and me and says Hey I have a question. What ISU basketball player has the highest single game scoring record? I said Lafester Rhodes, Why? She said these cards have trivia questions on them about ISU. That is when I realized she was playing Slap Jack with my 2000 Insite.com playing cards that I have kept sealed since I got them at the pep rally in Phoenix. 7 years and now my collector cards are ruined.

I think you reversed the order in the thread title.

Did you go to the Johnny Orr tailgate? I got a picture with him at it. I seldom wear my Insight shirt, I just like to look at it.

I had a set of those cards, and my family used them too for games

It's not like they are valuable. They are just valuable to me. The good part was at the end my wife read every trivia question to my son and I. Made it into a contest. Some interesting facts on those cards. The problem was I wanted them to remain sealed forever. Just thought it would be cool.

I don't think they would ever get too valuable... You are better off having fun with them....

Re: My wife is killing me.

If it were Cotton Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, or BCS Championship (or along that caliber) cards, you'd have a right to get upset. Insight.com Bowl? Not so much (even though it was our first bowl win ever).

It's not value. I make enought money. It was the principle of having cards not opened 50 years from now. It just would have been cool. Could you imagine having some from the Sun Bowl that were unopened. It would just be cool.

What is it with these women?

One guys wife throws his gear out. Another takes his memorabila. Mine has recently embraced her alma-mater's athletic program (the evil empire). Her mother, an ISU grad - thinks it's "cute" to give us his and hers, ISU and iowa, X-mas stockings.

It's as if they do it on purpose.....

I understand completely. they are a prised souvenir from that great bowl game and trip! I would be a disappointed too.

But that is why I took two decks, one we opened for the trivia and card playing, but the second is put up in the ISU stuff in the ISU 'area'.

    -keep.

It would be a shame if the black one accidentally fell off its hook into fireplace and caught fire..

Re: My wife is killing me.

I would put the next deck in the valuable lock box. Spouses are always going through your stuff, sorting, rearranging, evaluating. It is like your special stuff is competition to them.

As far as matching XMAS stockings, just buy another ISU stocking and you can pout up ISU 2, Iowa 1 in the HyVee Series...

Re: My wife is killing me.

I don't have such issues with my wife. She is very respectful of both my Cyclone gear, and the fact that I hate EIU with a passion many don't understand.

Case in point: Yesterday she was at the store buying my boy some new shoes. She called me up and asked, "Is it OK if I get him some shoes that are Black and Gold?"

Of course my answer was no way and she got him some other shoes. Point is, I love that woman.
