    Most improved based on experience?

Not sure if this has been posted (and yes, its from bleacher report), but thought it was interesting if not somewhat irrelevant. A listing of the top 25 teams based on experience improvement. And yes...we are # 14

It was written by a girl. Why isn't she in the kitchen making sandwiches?

I've seen some arbitrary lists in the off season but what could they possibly base this on??
Maybe they called all the coaches and asked them: "On a scale of 1-100, how much did you improve this summer?"

I think they were trying to be scientific and used returning starters and the amount of games played by those starters.

Yes and compared it to the previous year = the "improvement". Then they ranked the teams with the highest positive margin.

It's actually a very interestic metric that I hadn't considered previously.
We lost some big starters in KO and LJ, but the ones we have coming back have played a lot of games which is important.

Is a bad or mediocre player going to be magically better just because they have been there before? I will grant that a good player improves with experience because they see what is coming and react properly. A player without the necessary emotional, intellectual, or physical attributes, not so much.

Which is why they aren't saying that each of the schools are giong to have record years. Just that compared to last year, each team could improve based on experience.

Even a bad player can improve slightly with more experience.

They had some bad teams on there that were very inexperienced last year. Those kids took their lumps and could possibly be a little bit better this year.

If anything it might be more of a measure of what teams are less likely to be worse than last year.

Good point. I'm sure lots of us remember leading up to the 2003 season when all we heard about was 40 of the top 48 players returning. Unfortunately, most of them just weren't very good.
