    Ninth Recruit

    Per Andrew Logue

Iowa State football adds ninth recruit | Des Moines Register Staff Blogs

Justin Webster became Iowa State’s ninth verbal commitment for 2013 on Monday.

The 6-foot-1, 217-pound Webster is from Houston, Texas, and was recruited to play running back, linebacker or safety.

“I’m open for whatever the program needs,” Webster said. “Whatever they need me to play, I’ll step right in and do it.”

Webster also drew interest from Air Force, Southern Methodist and Texas Christian. He was also on the radar of Oklahoma State, but said he wasn’t thinking of either team when the Cyclones upset the Cowboys 37-31 in double overtime last season.

“I had no tie to either team, so I kind of watched it from a neutral perspective,” Webster said. “I saw a program come alive that night.

“I saw a team on fire.”

I didn't see it posted under 'ISU Football' ... should have thought to look under Intros before posting.

I like this kid's quotes. Really seems to be sold on CPR and ISU.

THIS is what CPR has brought to Ames, Iowa. Only the beginning.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
    (They just disappear offseason)

I hope CPR didn't use all of his gas starting that fire.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

NOW THAT'S A FIRE!!!!!! (Old Eddie Murphy reference)

    LOL at this post, CE

    Section110 on 9/12/14: Iowa 35 ISU 17
The subpar defense from the Cyclones gives the Hawks a chance to finally start to get their confidence rolling on offense. Both running the football and through the air.
*Breakout player prediction.... Everyone is going to have their eyes on Allen Lazard because of his hype coming out of H.S., but Derrick Willies steals the show.
