USA Olympic Uniforms made in China

Reid calls for officials to "burn" China-made Team USA Olympic uniforms | Fox News

Thoughts? I don't mean this to be political in nature, and as you can see, there is bipartisan disapproval of this.

Ralph Lauren is an American company, yes, but it'd be nice to have uniforms made here in the states, IMO. Plus, the huge Polo logo on them is tacky IMO.

Re: USA Olympic Uniforms made in China

I find this interesting because Harry Reid voted in support of an amendment outlawing flag-burning. How similar would burning our national team uniforms be? I've got to believe that at least one or two American flags have been made in China.

The fact is, only the Chinese, Vietnamese, Phillippines, Mexican, etc...delegations are probably wearing clothing actually made from their own countires. Nice try Reid, it's called globalization.

Let's just hope they are flying over there in Boeing's and not Airbusses and Kentucky Fried Chicken is catering all meals

They could go in cutoff Wranglers, but those are probably made overseas as well.

I am sure American Apparel would have made them if asked.

I routinely check the labels on items I purchase.

Nike was made overseas from the first day they started selling athletic shoes in the early 70s. I stuck with adidas for many years because they came from Germany. I still buy New Balance 993 shoes because they are made in the USA. If given a choice, I pay more and get Made in USA. Call me crazy but I'm happy to be crazy.

Even if the clothes were sewn in the U.S. (making them "made in the U.S."), most likely the fabric was made in China anyways.

You aren't looking very hard then. IMO, if you buy an American flag made in China you might as well be un-American. Its a symbol of your freedom. Buy one made in the land of the free and home of the brave.

You would think that our freedom is more than just "nbd"

What do you expect. The US Textile industry is dead just like a majority of our former industries.

My work boots, Red Wing, fall apart if made in China. They last a year if made in the USA. China, 6 months tops.
