    Psychics

    opinions please...

As soon as I pick up the paper someday, and the headlines read "Psychic wins lottery!" ...week after week. Then I'll believe in them.

I think that we probably have senses that are not well understood. That's about as far as I can go with it.

Any good psychic will tell you they don't use their powers for their own personal gains. I'm not sure if it is a code or just a guideline though.

They say country music speaks to the heart. Unfortunately, it has to go through your ears to get there.

Kinda like I don't go around using the force all willy-nilly. I can understand.

    I predicted this thread.

I also predict the next person to post in it will be a big jerk.

There are bad apples in every "profession" though, so there should still be some rogue psychics winning the lottery or making a fortune in the stock market.

    Re: Psychics

I've always been blown away by people's beliefs in this stuff. Basically, I've come to the conclusion that who wouldn't want to go in and have a bunch of, "Good things are going to happen to you." stuff told to them? At least the couple of people I had known who had visted a psychic always told me their readings and it was always quite general and quit positive. All with a "It's up to you" mantra. I suppose in the end, it's cheaper than going to a psychologist and they might tell you that the reason you don't have any money isn't because "you aren't rich" it's because you're god damn lazy and you spend more than you make.

The best was a very good friend of mine though. I would call her on this crap all the time and she always gave me the spin of, "But what they said happened happened."

Big Change, come into money, love life. A lot of it was self fulfilling I know. "You need a change in your love life." Oh, OK, that makes sense why you got a divorce now. What always really baffled me though, was that she was a staunch supporter of the Moonlanding is a hoax. Used to rip on me constantly for being interested in the Universe and the space program. And it always got me. How could you believe that this psychic actually just talked to your dog and your dog told her personally, that she needed to go walking more, didn't like her food and felt threatened by your husband (ex), but there is no way that humans are smart enough to actually land on the moon?

I still, even, just now, after reading the OP's post, just put my hands over my face and shake my head back and forth in amazement.

    Re: Psychics

I kind of think of them like the oracle in The Matrix movies, they tell you want/need to hear and then you act with the "knowledge" that something may happen. Like when Neo breaks the vase, would he have broken it if the oracle didn't say anything about it......

Some folks find religion, some folks find psychics

So you're saying Warren Buffett is just a rogue psychic. No wonder he drives around Omaha wearing a turban.
