I would put Jamie Pollard as #2. He has meant more to the univ than the other guys other than Johnny. Not sure I have Chizik there or not, we have looked pretty bad so far this year.

Good point on Pollard...and a couple of years from now he may be in the top spot.

I wouldn't count on him jumping ship until he knows he has done all that he thinks we can. And there is much to be done besides hiring coaches and updating a facility here and there.

Remember, his goal was to get every spot in the top half of the conference. He also mentioned the possibility of bring back baseball in the future. I don't think Jamie will be satisfied just because our football and basketball team may start winning games.

In a way, I hope he's gone in a few years....that will mean that his master plan has worked out. I think he's doing great, and ISU is really buying into his ideas, but we must keep in mind that he's also got a lot at stake personally. If this doesn't work, then he made us spend all of this extra money and effort for not, and he'll take the blame.

    I have faith.

Someday JP will be near the top of the list....and Chizik will be too. I would vote McCarney a little higher though....he did bring us back from the dead, now it's Chizik's job to take us to the top!

You can't say that at all about Chizik or McDermott. You have to consider Eustachy for that list because of the high points that he took us.

I might put Fennelly higher, because making people care about women's basketball is no easy task.

Yeah, I'd put the new guys lower or not on the list yet.....Eustachy and Floyd should be on there above McDermott for now. We all have faith in Cael, but let's see how he does as a long-term coach.....I think recruiting Cael out of high school should be on the list ahead of hiring him.

I've got to agree about Fennelly. The man's worked a minor miracle.

Honestly it's too early to put Chizik and McDermott on that list, although my optimism is high regarding both coaches.

Re: Top Ten best moves Iowa State has made...

I'll agree on Johnny Orr #1. Hiring him away from Michigan and then seeing him build Hilton Magic was impressive. I wish he would have had some higher finishes in the conference while he was here, but overall, pretty incredible.
