    Eric Rivers

I saw a post over on Rivals about a player on the verge of a commit, apparently it's this kid.

    Eric Rivers - Yahoo! Sports

My first reaction, seeing that he has Iowa State with "HIGH" interest, so apparently he's about to commit to the Good Guys, and seeing that he only has one other offer, and I'm not overly impressed with 5'8" kids, the inevitable conclusion is that, apparently, Paul Rhoads is out of gas.

Then I stopped to think about it. Sure, he's 5'8", but those are some gaudy rushing ypc. Even more importantly, even if he's "merely" another Jarvis West at slot receiver, JW would be a senior when Rivers comes off a redshirt. He'd thus have a year to acclimate before being relied upon.

It was weird. A strange feeling suddenly swept over me. Curious. It was almost, almost, like...CPR has a plan after all. Bizarre!

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.

Come to think of it,. TD was also reasonably slow for a tailback that size. His brother was even slower.

I'm confused. Apparently you must be in a different country than me:

But he was tougher than a $2 steak. According to a Saint's coach.

    Re: Eric Rivers

If you read the story on rivals, there is a reason why some of the bigger schools are yet to offer this kid and it has nothing to do with his football skill.

    Re: Eric Rivers

Must be misprint on original link:
68 touches (runs & receptions), averaged over 10 yards per touch, had 7 TDs, and all in only 4 games?

Don't care about stature in this case. Sounds like playmaker to me, and better here than at Wake or anywhere else for that matter.
