ND and Louisville? Seems like The general FSU rhetoric is opposed to ND.

Living in Chicagoland, I would create my own "Jizzed in my Pants" SNL Digital Short if we added ND and Louisville. Adding the Chicago market to the Big 12 footprint, and being able to drive to ISU road games that are that close would be amazing!

It's really hard for me to believe Florida State adds no value to a TV deal. That makes as much sense as saying the ACC deal wouldn't be worth less without FSU and Miami.

That said, this is how you play the game and Neinas has proven to be much better at the game than who we previously had making statements like this.

I live in Chicago too. Louisville seems like a long ways away but it's no different than Ames. South Bend is nothing on a Saturday morning when there's no traffic. Basketball games on a weeknight to south bend would mean some traffic.

This was from january. Were the talks of FSU\Clemson on the table yet or was this more in regards to teams like Louisville. If so, no surprise, Louisville likely wouldnt add a whole lot other than helping fill a slot for evening up the numbers depending on who we added of teams that make money.

I however would not believe that FSU especially would not be a revenue generator. Theyre the biggest football brand in the ACC.

    Re: Chuck Neinas says ND

Keep in mind the date of the memo that is being referred to. It is dated in January. The new ACC deal with Pitt and Syracuse was announced a couple of months after that. With the new ACC deal being well below the estimated values per school of the new SEC and B12 deals, that is what fueled the FSU to the B12 rumors. Back in January, FSU probably wasn't considered an "available" option for the B12 like ND. FSU is likely the one other school besides ND that would add sufficient value to the B12 by themselves.

    Re: Chuck Neinas says ND

Rumor has it (WVU board) that FSU and Clemson basically wanted the Big 12 to pay $15 million of the ACC buyout for them, and then basically a no interest loan for the other 5 mil. IMO, I think the Big 12 is sending a message to them that 'you need the Big 12, the Big 12 does not need you'.

For me, I am now squarely in the stay at 10 camp for a while.

In January people were still buying the fantasy that the #7 football conference of the BCS era was destined to be one of the "power four" football conferences in Larry Scott's NFL 2.0.

I didn't realize the date of the link.

    Same.

I like Louisville as a program, the city would make a great place to visit for road trips, but it doesn't look like they bring enough revenue to the table to consider them as the next member of the Big 12.

What about Pitt? They have already left the big east. They are not yet in the ACC. B12> ACC. Is there a buyout to get them? There were NC 1 year. They are rivals with ND and WVU.

Yes...that assessment is WAY outdated and does not include FSU/Clemson. The rumors from the WVU board about payouts comes from a very pro-ACC source...and assumes any school would actually pay the full departure penalty...which our experiences with CU, NU, A&M and Mizzou make clear is false. Likely, the Big 12 would use some "signing bonus" money from its upcoming new TV contracts to help both schools...perhaps as much as 10 million for FSU with some of that being loaned and some being gifted. But such costs would be small in comparison with a 3-5 million annual bump in revenues each school would get with the addition of FSU/Clemson to the league.

How do we know the TV execs are going to up the payout so each schools get a 3-5 M annual bump? we don't do we?? Huge assumption.
