Best Thing I ever ate- Pre Dinner Drinks

I'm going to start one of these threads every Friday until I run out of categories
Not looking to turn this into a "that place sucks" type of thread. More just the positive experiences people have had at different places.
    Categories so far-
    Pre dinner drinks
    Appetizers
    bread
    salad
    pasta
meat (may split into different categories)
    desert
    Post dinner drinks

So for today, where is the best place to have a pre-dinner drink and what is that drink?

Mine- I wish I remembered the drink, but at a pub in the Czech Republic, the owner handed out a shot to everyone that walked in the door and claimed it helped digestion. Food sure tasted great after that.

Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating.

Habanero martini at Willy's Seafood in Healdsburg, CA. It was amazing.

Any martini at Butler's Martini Bar in Amarillo. Say what you will about the Panhandle, but those martini's were amazing. One of the things I miss from that part of the country.

I judge a resturaunt off of how well they make a spinach and artichoke dip.

Think that would fall into a future thread about appetizers, if I read OP's idea correctly.

The Margaritas at Sam' Cafe in Phoenix are quite good but they do limit you to 2.

Do thread rules allow discussing courses other than pre-dinner drinks?

    pre dinner drink:

    bombay sapphire, olives, lime, ice

this is also a "just got home from work" drink, "wife's actin' all types of crazy and i need something to help me deal with this woman" drink, and a "who's ready to black the **** out" type of drink.

    very versatile beverage!

Some of these are making my mouth water. What is in a gelato martini?
