    Templeton Rye

I was recently gifted with a bottle for Father's Day. I'm a little ignorant about rye's, so I thought I'd ask the group - what is the best way to enjoy this?

    on the rocks?

    neat?

    mixed with something?

    Gracias!

I really enjoy it on the rocks, but if that is too much for you, just a splash of sour takes a little of the edge of. And I mean just a splash.

On the rocks - rye whiskey is a good 'sippin' whiskey

If this thread does not get much traction, think there is one from the past you could search for that had some good responses too.

Pretty sure if you mix it with anything lightning will strike you and continue striking you throughout eternity.

I like it on the rocks in a lowball.

That was the faux pas I was looking for!!

I think I'll try a little sippin' first and see how that goes!

Thanks for the feedback! Wish me luck!!

Wouldn't you be mixing it with water if you had it on the rocks? Straight up is the only way to enjoy whiskey. Chill it ahead of time if you must.

Sure is great to have kids old enough now to make liquor runs for you! I could get used to this!

Water is added to whiskey before bottling anyway. It's best to use a deionized or distilled water to preserve all tastes however. you can buy this at hy-vee by the gallon.

That being said, I do prefer my whiskey neat. However I don't drink rye's but only Irish whiskey.

    Re: Templeton Rye

It's just Rye Whiskey. No big deal, except small batch whiskeys are the latest craze. PS: I have a bottle too and drink it with a citrus twist, or sometimes with coke.

In large quantities is the correct answer. Thanks for playing.
