    Which SUV Should I Buy?

So, thinking about a new SUV driver. Currently have Pathfinder. Little big, Like it, but has 150K miles and no problems, but thinking of keeping it for my wife in winter, and weekend benders.

    Priorities -
good handling/acceleration, lots of intense highway driving in urban areas
gas mileage - meh, just not terrible
    reliability 150K+
    Good vehicle for escorting/entertaining clients
Stylish - My largest client is very trendy/image aware
Roomy - I am six three and big bodied.

If anyone has test driven/had, please let me know preference. My favorites are the Cayenne and the Evoque, but the Cayenne gets way too pricey with options, and Land Rover has never been a terribly "reliable" brand.

if there is one I missed, please suggest.

At 6'3" and big bodied I'd cross the SRX off the list. My aunt has an 11? and I'm 6'2" 240 and think it's cramped when I drive it.

The German stuff is always going to be more expensive to fix. A Porsche is a Porsche, a BMW is a BMW, where as a Lexus is a Toyota. So there are more crossover parts and they tend to be cheaper. That being said, I'm a huge fan of German fit and finish. There is something about them that is usually more classy and says we know how to do this. I recently road in the Lexus and honestly, I felt a little closed in in it. I've never been a fan of the Land Rovers. They just seem so English to me. It probably has more to do with having to help my father-in-law work on a couple Jaguars for his frends. British engineering just seemed a little backwards to me. A lot of "Why did they put that there?" Although I haven't been in anything British made since 2005.

Re: Which SUV Should I Buy?

Here's one that you probably would not have thought of, but it ticks all your boxes and is very impressive once you drive it!

The Ford Flex, with a 3.5 L EcoBoost engine (365 HP!) with Titanium appearance package and Vista sunroof. A very nice vehicle, for a lot less than some of those others on your list and all the room you could ever need. Make sure to go with the captain's chairs in the middle for added luxury feel. You can even get one with a refrigerator in the middle center console. Excellent for escorting and entertaining clients!

If you've had such great luck with your Nissan, is there a particular reason you excluded the new Infinity SUV?

My brother in-law just bought one and I've only been in it once, but I was very impressed with the ride and finish.

Ford is making nice crossovers right now but the Flex is ugly as sin IMHO.

Like them, but the fx seems too car like once they put it on the smaller platform, the Jx has a weird looking window on the back, and the Qx is a little too big. I really like the Fx, but I like to sit up high.

Re: Which SUV Should I Buy?

Toyota Venza is a terrific vehicle, and even loaded up comes in much more affordable than it's close cousin the Lexus RX and the rest of the (way overpriced) stuff on your list.
Tons of room and hits all the other requirements you've posted.
However, if you're that dedicated to the "snob factor", you'll probably brush off the 'yota. More's the pity, imo.

I like my Infiniti FX35, runs the 350z chassis and motor. Very fun and fast SUV.

I went to college thinking I wanted a career; turns out I just wanted paychecks.

A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.

My grandpa has one of these & I took it on a short jaunt from Indy to Cincinnati for a Reds game. I was impressed. They certainly don't look stunning, but they have tons of room in the back seat and drive nicely.

Definitely like them, and would be at the top of my list except the height issue. Do u feel like you are high up enough to see over cars in front of you for navigating traffic? Maybe it is enough, but I felt as though I was in a car.

It should be known that I am a throwback to a full-size truck.

Cool Re: Which SUV Should I Buy?

    BMW X5 = awesome vehicle

Toyota Highlander is a better bang for the money, built on a car platform so drives like a dream yet still an SUV.

Been a Toyota fan over the years, but the styling is a little too bland for my tastes. To me the Venza borders on minivan/station wagon.
