Moneyball 2.0: How Missile Tracking Cameras Are Remaking The NBA | Co.Design: business + innovation + design

Originally designed in Israel to tract missiles, now being adapted for professional soccer and basketball, I wonder if this will make it to the NCAA? One knock is that it generated HUGE amounts of data... I tend to prefer as much data as possible.

The problem isn't that it creates too much data. It's that it creates more than what anyone knows what to do with at this point. Give it a few years, and it'll be huge.

Don't confuse hope for a plan.

But that is a perfect problem to have! Even if you have too much data, over time someone will develop algorithms and other criteria that deals with the data and then you will already have years' worth to analyze!!
