Texas Tech is the only Big 12 school not in the top 21. I guess Northwestern State and Texas State aren't strong conference games.

The top 25 is littered with one B1G school. They can't even beat the lowly ACC.

I agree but I'm not sure how it can change? I suppose going back to 8 conference games would help but our OOC games aren't particularly daunting on a national scale.

The better we get the more our SOS drops. If we become a top 25 team routinely we'll see our SOS become more reasonable.

About the only way for us to lighten our schedule is to drop the Iowa game, and I don't think that is likely.

The SEC won't even adopt a 9 game conference schedule with a 14 member league.

Maybe I missed one, but it appears that there are 8 Big 10 teams with weaker schedules than the worst strength of schedule Big 12 team. You can't continue to claim to be a premiere football conference with a straight face until you start putting on your big boy pants.

The Big 12 chose to go to 9 conference games. Nobody forced them to and nobody is forcing them to continue to do so.

Here's the dirty little secret. AD's love 9 conference games because they're easier to sell tickets to than weak OOC opponents and you don't have to pay them to play you. Not to mention the difference it makes in tv revenue.

Sometimes taking the money has consequences.

What you dont like how we keep scheduling teams we think will suck and then when it comes time to play them, they are tough? Its amazing how unlucky we have been with that as of late.

Maybe it's just name recognition but has Tulsa been that bad in the last decade? They aren't great obviously but I don't remember them being pushovers.

The MAC is a pretty good place to get teams to take a beating. Except Western Michigan. They don't always cooperate.

Who would we trade Tulsa for? Would playing two FCS opponents OOC hurt bowl eligibility?

I'm not sure what the AD is supposed to do here? We're playing one FCS, one BCS we're tied to (mostly for the revenue they create in Ames, which is a lot) and Tulsa. We can't know how good or ****ty the mid major we schedule is going to be when we schedule them, right?
